Mrs. Spellacy

 Welcome to Mrs. Spellacy's Class!

I have taught second grade in the Hudson City Schools for 15 years.  I earned my BA in English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and my MEd from John Carroll University.  I received a Distinguished Teacher award in 2001 and I have been a Jennings Scholar.  I attended the International Reading Association Conference twice, once as a presenter, and I consider myself a lifelong learner.  I am passionate about teaching children and I believe that the classroom should be a place where it is safe to take risks, explore, make mistakes, celebrate successes, and teach each other. 

I am enjoying working with this year's class and I hope they are as proud as I am of the progress they've made since the beginning of the year!
