Literacy unlocks the door to learning throughout life, is essential to development and health, and opens the way for democratic participation and active citizenship." |
Hudson City Schools' language arts program establishes and strengthens the foundation for all learning. The purpose of language arts instruction is to construct meaning and develop competency in reading, writing, listening, speaking, researching, critical thinking, and visual literacy.
Current and future demands of the work place, society, and the individual reach beyond basic literacy. Advances in technology and changes in society have altered and will continue to alter the ways in which language is used to communicate. Students must be prepared to meet these demands.
This website is a resource for students, parents, and teachers to access information about the language arts curriculum of the Hudson City Schools.
