Mrs. Lukingbeal

Welcome to class A-14's website. My name is Denise Lukingbeal and I am the lucky teacher who goes everyday to a job I love! Our classroom is an exciting place, filled with enthusiasm and laughter, highlighted with kindness and understanding. I believe that a classroom should be built on a foundation of mutual trust, respect and compassion. I foster a caring learning environment in which every child can succeed with encouragement and guidance in appropriate learning goals. Some of my interests include drawing, biking, gardening, skiing, playing the piano and reading. I have been a piano teacher, art teacher, first, second and third grade classroom teacher and reading teacher. I now teach second grade at Ellsworth Hill Elementary School. An interesting fact about me is that I have an identical twin sister who also teaches second grade in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Master's in Reading Specialization from Kent State University. Hudson City School District honored me with a distinquished teacher award in 2005 and a Shining Apple Award in 2006. My husband and I have two daughters, one son, one son in law and a baby granddaughter! We have lived in Hudson for almost twenty years. Thanks for visiting our website.
