My Background
I am a resident of Hudson, Ohio. I moved here from Sudbury, Massachusetts six years ago with my husband and our three children.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Miami University. I have been certified in Love and Logic. I also have my Reading Endorsement from Kent State University and am trained in Project Read. I am currently working on completing my Master's at the University of Akron in Reading. I have had several long-term positions in the Hudson School District including jobs in second and third grade. During our time in Sudbury, I taught second grade and held several different support positions in reading.

My Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is prescriptive progressive meaning; children learn in their own individual way and it is up to me to figure out the best strategies to use when teaching each child. I strive to make each child feel important and learn to feel safe when taking an educational risk. It is essential that each child produce work that they can feel proud of and I always stress the importance of doing their best at all times. I expect children to respect their classmates, themselves, and me, and to take responsibility for their actions.  I will treat each child like I would want my own children treated in the classroom. As a mother of three, I have seen a variety of teachers and realize the importance a teacher can have in shaping a child's self esteem and what a vital role a teacher plays in a child's life.
