Dr. David Johns loves teaching 5th grade Language Arts!  Additionally, in his career he has served as a 6th grade teacher, Middle school Football coach, Middle School Assistant Principal, and as the Principal of Hudson Middle School.  He also presently serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School at Ashland University teaching Educational Psychology, Educational Administration and Leadership Studies, as well as Qualitative Research.  He's taught in this higher education setting since 2002.  He was named a "Professional Fellow" by the university in 2007,  and again in 2010.  He has been named to the Who's Who Among America's Teachers numerous times, has been awarded the Akron University Doctoral Student of the Year Award, was given the Hudson City Schools Leadership Award, and has been a recipient of the Summit County Education Initiative Teaching Star Award. 
Dr. Johns has lectured at numerous conferences, is an active writer and poet, and has been recognized internationally as a poet winning the Editor's Choice Award for exemplary creative and innovative writing as one of only 33 poets worldwide to be named as such.  He is currently actively completing a book of quotes and poetry as well as a novel.  He hopes to get published in the near future. 
Dr. Johns is a Cum Laude graduate of Capital University, received a Masters Degree from Akron University, and completed his Doctorate in Administration and Middle School studies at Akron University. 
Dr. Johns enjoys fishing, golfing, and participating in numerous sports in his spare time.  He is also an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and heads to Cleveland often to watch his beloved Cleveland Indians and Browns.  He keeps in shape mentally and physically by working on his 9 acre mini-farm in Hartville, Ohio, and lives with his two cats affectionately named Tressel and Griffin after his 2 OSU Football heroes!:)  Dr. Johns is thankful to work in such a supportive community that truly values education!
