Hello,

My name is Pam Gillespie and I have been a full time employee of Hudson City Schools for eighteen years. I began my Hudson career at East Woods Elementary, spent one year at Hudson Middle School, and have been teaching at Evamere ever since. As a special education teacher, I believe the experience across grade levels has given me a better understanding of student needs and our district's continuum of service.  I have done assorted combinations of Kindergarten and First Grade, but have done First Grade intervention exclusively for the last five years.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Individual and Family Development and a Masters Degree in Special Education from Kent State University. I take graduate level coursework and participate in educational opportunities that will benefit my students, on an ongoing basis. I have had training or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, TEACCH Training (in North Carolina), Behavior Management, Crisis Intervention, Sensory Integration Strategies, Communication Strategies, Reading and Reading Assessment, Ten Frames and Touch Math Strategies, and various disability specific interventions. I consider myself a lifetime learner and am always open to ideas/strategies that will benefit my students.

My husband and I are Hudson residents. Our three children attended public school in Hudson. All graduated feeling well prepared to meet the challenges of the next phase of their lives. I enjoy children, gardening, cooking, reading, dancing, socializing, movies and remodeling projects.

I believe that all children can learn. I embrace diversity. I foster a climate of trust and mutual respect within my classroom. I approach life and teaching with the understanding that all individuals have strengths and weaknesses as well as contributions to make. I believe that by communicating with one another openly, honestly, and working together, great things can be accomplished! I look forward to working with you and your children!
