Hudson Middle School
Integrated Mathematics II
Syllabus
Connected Mathematics provides units of work for grades 6, 7 and 8. Every unit develops a “big idea” that is an important cluster of related concepts, skills, procedures, and ways of thinking.Integrated Math 2
Accentuate the Negative
Integers
Understanding and modeling integers; integer operations; Order of Operations; four-quadrant graphing.
Moving Straight Ahead
Linear Relationships
Recognizing and representing linear relationships in tables, graphs, words, and symbols; solving simple linear equations.
Samples and Populations
Data and Statistics
Explore the process of statistical investigation; compare samples using measures of center (mean, median, mode), measures of variability (minimum and maximum values, range percentiles); data displays that group data (histograms, stem-and-leaf plots, box-and-whisker plots, scatter plots).
Looking for Pythagoras
The Pythagorean Theorem
The Pythagorean Theorem; irrational numbers; connecting coodinates; slope, distance and area.
Growing, Growing, Growing
Exponential Relationships
Recognizing and representing exponential growth and decay in tables, graphs, words and symbols.
Frogs, Fleas and Painted Cubes
Quadratic Relationships
Recognizing and representing quadratic functions in tables, graphs, words and symbols.
Say It With Symbols
Algebraic Reasoning
Equivalent expressions; order of operations; solving linear equations and simple quadratic equations.
Shapes of Algebra
Linear Systems and Inequalities
Connections between algebra and geometry; solving and graphing systems of linear equations and systems of linear inequalities.
