Welcome to East Woods School!

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Filomena.  I am the assistant principal at East Woods School.  Before coming to the office, I was a fourth grade teacher here at East Woods.  I taught language arts, math, and social studies for eleven years.  As you can tell, I LOVE working at East Woods!

I also love to learn new things and consider myself a lifelong student.  I am a graduate of Kent State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education (1995), a Master of Education Degree in Reading Instruction (2000), and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Administration (2005). I attend as many professional development experiences as I can so I can stay current on best practices in curriculum, instruction, and leadership.  

I am married to my husband, Chris, who heads the commercial truck department for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  In May, 2010, we welcomed our son, Chase, into our lives.  We also have a black lab named Stoli.  Our family enjoys going on vacation to South Carolina and Florida, hanging out with our family and friends, spending time at my dad's lakehouse on Lake Erie, taking walks on area trails or around the neighborhood, and watching Ohio State football games.
