Welcome to G-8!
I am delighted to be your child's teacher this year! Kindergarten is such an exciting time to learn new things, create new friendships, and explore new opportunities!
I absolutely LOVE my job -teaching 5- and 6-year olds is truly a privilege! Not only is it my job, but teaching is my passion! I began my educational career as a student teacher here at Evamere. I have been a part of the Evamere family as a long-term and building substitute, first-grade teacher, and now for the 8th year in my current position as a Kindergarten teacher. So as you can well imagine, Evamere is a place I hold dear to my heart!
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Master of Education in Reading Specialization, as well as the Ohio Reading Endorsement. I was also recently designated as a Master Teacher by the state of Ohio. Prior to these degrees, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and enjoyed a wonderful career as a Visual Merchandiser for a major department store. I live with my husband and our two amazingly lovable cats, Jagar and Bailey. Outside of work, my interests include art, reading, life-long learning, and travel. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the color PINK, NASCAR and the STEELERS!!
I am looking forward to this year as your child embarks on his/her first formal education experience. This year will be the first step for your child toward becoming a life-long learner, in a setting where education is supported through social interaction. I look forward to being a partner with you as we work together to support your child in learning to enjoy school, in learning to work with others and in achieving the academic objectives set by our district. I have high expectations for all of my students - By working with you, we can create the best possible learning environment that motivates and engages ALL learners!
It is my hope that your child will come to appreciate, through their Kindergarten experience, the JOY and value of learning! I know we are going to have a FANTASTIC year together!
