PROGRAM INITIATIVES

Hudson C.A.R.E. (Chemical Abuse Reduced by Education) is a cooperative volunteer effort of the Hudson Parent Partnership/CARE and the Hudson City Schools.  In the 2004-2005 school year Hudson City School Administration asked the Hudson Parent Partnership (HPP) to take over the stewardship of C.A.R.E., an organization that was started in 1981.  C.A.R.E. was a registered as a 501c(4) not-for-profit organization.  In 2005, the Parent Partnership and Hudson C.A.R.E were consolidated and registered with the State of Ohio as a 501c(4) not-for-profit organization.  For additional information, please visit the HPP-C.A.R.E. website.

Community of Concern is a partnership of parents, students and schools working together to keep children alcohol, tobacco and other drug-free. Community of Concern is an initiative of Hudson Community First in conjunction with area schools including Hudson City Schools and Western Reserve Academy.

The Hudson High School Student Assistance Team consists of staff and support staff who received basic alcohol and other drug prevention and intervention training.  The team meets weekly to manage the program and to discuss student issues.  All members are available for students who have concerns about another student, a friend, a family member or themselves.

HUDDLE, which stands for Helping Us Develop Dedication, Leadership and Enthusiasm is a mentoring program in which high school students educate younger students about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
