Welcome to Mrs. Chunn's Website!


Mrs. Chunn, a resident of Hudson, received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and her Masters in Music Education from Kent State University.  She has taught in Illinois, Colorado and Ohio in both public and private school systems in K-12 general, vocal and instrumental music.  Mrs. Chunn holds three levels of Orff-Schulwerk certification and is a National Board Certified Teacher.  She is also a member of the National Association of Music Education, Ohio Music Educators Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary society for women educators as well as other professional organizations.  In addition, Mrs. Chunn had the article, "Using Ohio Content Standards to Engage Kids in Opera" published in the October/November issue of OMEA's TRIAD, Volume 79 (1) as well as the article, "Webquest: A Valuable Teaching Tool in General Music" published in the April 2002 issue of OMEA's TRIAD, Volume 69 (5).  In 2003, Mrs. Chunn received a Distinguished Teacher Award from the Hudson Schools.

Teaching in the Hudson City School District since 1990, Mrs. Chunn currently teaches fourth and fifth grade general music classes.  She also directs the fifth grade choirs, (East Woods Singers and East Woods Ensemble). 
Mr. Chunn (a professor of music at KSU) and Mrs. Chunn have two daughters.  The oldest lives in San Francisco with her husband and their two sons.  The youngest lives locally and is a nurse.  Mrs. Chunn loves to work out which gives her lots of energy to teach many, many students.  Mrs. Chunn has a special love for music, cats and children but not necessarily in that order.
