Special Notes

1.    Conferences:  I can be reached through the school office (330-653-1246) or Email at Bradlem@hudson.edu.  There are two M Bradley’s in the district so they took the “y” off of my name!

2.    Illness:  Your child will receive some make up work upon returning to school and should complete it within a reasonable time after returning.

3.    Lunch: Our lunch is scheduled from 11:40-12:27 (they have recess first).  If your child forgets his/her lunch, please drop it off at the office prior to this time.

4.    Snack: We will be having a snack in the mornings.  Please try to make the snack a nutritious one (fruit, yogurt, granola, etc.).

5.    Birthday Treats: You child is welcome to bring in a birthday treat.  This year there is a peanut allergy so please keep that in mind when making your selection.  Check with me for a good time to bring it in.  Feel free to send it in with your child.

6.    Graded Work and Notices: Papers are passed out on a daily basis and placed in your child’s take-home folder.  Please ask your child to show then to you nightly.

Homework Policy

1.    Unfinished Daily Work: Your child may occasionally not complete his/her daily work.  It should be completed at home and returned the following day for grading.

2.    Reading: A home reading program began in September.  A calendar will be sent home at the beginning of each month.  Our reading goal will be 400 minutes of reading per month.  The calendars are to be turned back in at the end of the month with the number of minutes recorded weekly.  Please sign the calendar too.

3.    Spelling:  Spelling words will be assigned at the beginning of each week.  Students are expected to study them at home and be prepared for a test on Friday.  Any misspelled words are added to your child’s Quick Word Handbook here at school.

4.    Math: We have started our first Investigations Unit, Trading Stickers and Combining Coins.  We will be working on projects for whole units.  There are nine units for third grade.  There will be homework from the units and additional sources coming home.  Your child should have also brought home a math book.  Please feel free to use it as a reference.

5.    Assignments: Each child should have several assignment sheets inside the prongs of his/her take-home folder.  We use it daily to write down the day’s assignments. Please check it nightly.
