The safety and security of our students and staff is our number one priority. To help prevent activities that could negatively impact our schools, we have worked many years with Security Voice, Safe Schools Helpline, an outside company, with no ties to our schools. This is an anonymous helpline that you can use to let us know about and try to prevent problems before they occur. We have added a new "Safe Schools Helpline" button (white with red letters) on the main page of the district web site and on each building's web page. Listed on the page are three ways, either phone, text or Internet, to report acts such as violence, theft, drug or alcohol use, sexual harassment, weapons, bully behavior, etc.
If you are not comfortable reporting these types of incidence, or information to our staff, please consider using this secure, anonymous service. Please, if you see, read, or hear something that threatens our school safety, please say something!
Thanks to the parents of our incoming 6th grade class who attended the Orientation Meeting! For those of you who were unable to attend, please click here to view the power point presentation.

The Hudson Library and Hudson High School National Honor Society volunteers are offering a free homework help service for middle school students, every Monday in the Teen Room from 3:30 until 5:00 and 7:00 until 8:30. This is a drop-in program that does not require registration. It will not take place on Mondays that there is no school.

WEEKLY TIP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS:
All friendships have ups and downs. Children need to learn that being "best friends" isn't always smooth sailing. People have differences of opinion and even get angry, but they still care for each other. This is what's going on when we get involved in those "I-hate-her-she-is-so-stuck-up-and-how-could-she-do-this-to-me" conversations. As parents we must help our kids see that one problem doesn't ruin a relationship, but stubbornness might. Middle schoolers have a lot of spats and falling outs, but often the friends are back together again in a short time. "Tips for Parents" (www.nmsa.org)
