FROM THE WELLNESS CLINIC
A reminder from the clinic regarding medication at school……
Our school district follows strict guidelines for medication administration during the school day. All medication required during the school day, including prescription and over-the-counter, must be administered following the guidelines of our School Board Policy. Appropriate medication forms must be completed with parent and physician signatures before any medication is administered by school staff. The forms can be obtained at each school building or on our website. All medication must be brought to school by the parent/guardian in the original container or prescription bottle. The only exceptions are asthma inhalers and/or epi-pens which can be carried by our students if medication forms are completed. Please do not send any other medication to school with your child in their lunch box, backpack, coat pocket….. A parent can come to the school to administer medication to their own child without a form. By adhering to our district’s medication policy, we will continue to keep all our school children safe at school.
*We often see students in the clinic who require a change of clothing. Food gets spilled, “accidents” happen, and third graders still love puddles and mud! If you have an extra pair of pants or shorts with an elastic waistband, these items would be appreciated in the “borrowed clothes” department of the clinic. Thanks for your help!
