The Snowflake Dance is this Saturday (12/7), at 8:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale this Wednesday through Friday during all lunch periods. This Friday is "Ugly Holiday Sweater" Spirit Day! Wear your ugliest holiday sweater and come to the Snowflake Dance this Saturday (12/7), to claim your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place prize!
HHS launches the EPA (Explorer Persistence Award) next week! A student in each grade will be recognized for unsurpassed persistence/perseverance each month. Students can nominate a teacher who goes above/beyond! Submit your choice to the office by this Friday (12/6).
On Line Fee Update: If you have not paid your FALL student fees yet, the Hudson City School District has set a deadline of Monday, December 2, 2013, for the payment of any outstanding FALL student fees and/or FALL student participation and activity fees. While many parents paid fall fees with checks, the district waived the payment due date until the on line fee payment system was operational. On line fee payment for student fees began November 4, 2013. Please visit your student's account on the Home Access Center or MyPaymentsPlus to check for fee information. Parents may also pay by check (payable to Hudson City Schools) in the main office of your child's school.
Winter student participation and activity fees (where applicable), are also being collected at this time. Please watch for fees to be posted in Home Access Center or MyPaymentsPlus. In addition, students are expected to pay fees for participation in winter sports before the first contest of the season.
Attention Speech and Debate Team: Each team member is asked to bring 2 dozen cookies to the dance this Saturday! And don't forget to sign up for either set-up (starting at 3 p.m. Saturday), or tear-down, beginning immediately after the dance.
The Book Club will meet after school today in C-206. We will finish the discussions and close the book on Catch-22. We will also choose our next book. Please join us!
The High School Literary Magazine is looking for entries for the first edition. Deadline is December 15. Please submit your typed draft in the magazine folder in your English classroom.
The International Club will meet after school on Tuesday, December 17, in W-204.
The next meeting for members of the Business Club will be Wednesday (12/11), from 3- 4 p.m. in B-100. Our speaker series will begin!
There is a National Honor Society meeting for all members today at 3:00 p.m. in the band room.
There will be Key Club meeting today in room C-212! See Mr. Swarts if you can't make it and would like volunteer information.
The GSA will meet on Thursday (12/12), in A-202. New members are welcome. There will be food. Hope to see you there!
Calling all dancers interested in learning to tap dance for the spring musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie! Please attend the tap dancing clinics each Friday in the month of December and learn to tap dance. Clinics are held in the stage/ choir room area.
Set Construction will meet at 6:00 p.m. tonight. Dress for painting and messy work!
The week of December 9 there is a massive world-wide campaign in which 10 million students are encouraged to try an hour of computer programming! Sign up to participate in an hour of coding on Wednesday morning (12/11), from 8:00 to 9:30 in B-103. Empower yourself!

The Explorer newspaper staff will meet today and Friday after school in room B-102 for "Late Nights" to publish the December issue of the paper. Plan to stay until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and be prepared to bring money for dinner and to stay later on Friday.
All Music Students who sold fruit or pastries are to pick them up Saturday morning between 9:00 a.m. and noon. All orders must be picked up!
All Thespian Troupe members and Committee Heads plan to meet today after school in the choir room.

Anime Art Contest - Do you love drawing anime/manga? Then show off your skills by entering in the Hudson Library’s Anime Art Contest! Teens in grades 7 to 12 can submit their own original artwork based on anime, manga, video games, or fan art. All entries are due no later than Saturday, December 28th at 5:00 p.m. Entries will be displayed and judged during Hudson Library’s ToshoCon on Saturday, January 4th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Prizes include gift cards to Hobby Lobby to stock up on art supplies! With the support of students, parents and staff, the Hudson PTO donated over $22,000 last year in grants, scholarships and awards.
