|January 23rd||Thirty-Nine HHS Students Win 111 Scholastic Art Awards|
Thirty-nine Hudson High School students have garnered 111 Scholastic Art Awards, including 3 Portfolio Awards, 29 Gold Keys, 30 Silver Keys and 49 Honorable Mentions.The winners are the students of Fine Arts teacher Carolyn Huber and Photography teacher Tim Naujoks. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards began in 1923. More than 90,000 teens in grades 7-12 from across the country submit more than 185,000 works of art and writing in 28 categories. Scholastic Art Awards help identify serious young artists for their talent and orginality. Winning this award can be life-changing. Truman Capote (1932), Richard Avedon (1941), Andy Warhol (ca. 1945), Sylvia Plath (1947), Robert Redford (1954) and Zac Posen (1998) are among some of America's icons to win this award. Congratulations to each one of these very remarkable Hudson High School artists!
