Community Organizations

In 1799, four years before Ohio attained statehood, Hudson was carved from a portion of the Western Reserve belonging to Connecticut. It was founded by settlers from that state led by David Hudson. The new community was designed in the traditional village green plan of New England. Hudson is a suburban city located 15 miles north of Akron and 20 miles south of Cleveland. The Hudson City School District is comprised of the City of Hudson and small parts of Boston Heights Village, Boston Township, and Northampton Township. Approximately 5506 students attend the six Hudson Schools. The High School is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Ohio Department of Education.
