EARLY REGISTRATION You may register as soon as you receive this brochure. Early registration is essential since the decision to offer a class is dependent upon receiving minimum registration. If there is inadequate class enrollment, it may be cancelled at the discretion of the management or instructor. Feel free to call us with any questions you may have before registering.
PAYMENT Payment in full is due at the time of registration. When registering in person, you may use a check, money order or Visa/Mastercard. No cash please. When registering by phone (adult classes only), use your VISA/Mastercard. Register by mail with a check made payable to Hudson City Schools or your VISA/Mastercard. Unless otherwise stated, class fees do not include materials or books if required. A $25 cash fee will be charged for all checks returned for insufficient funds.
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
Get the latest updates from www.hudson.edu/hcer, or call the weather hotline (330-653-1212) after 4:00 p.m. When the Hudson City Schools are not in session or are dismissed early due to inclement weather, all daytime, afternoon, and/or evening HCER classes will not be held, regardless of weather changes. Classes missed due to bad weather or other "acts of God" CANNOT be guaranteed a makeup session or pro-rated refund/credit.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Except for one-session programs, if a youth or adult education class does not meet your expectations, you will be given a pro-rated refund/credit after the conclusion of the first class.
REFUNDS/CREDITS
Participants assume the risk of changes in personal affairs, schedules or health when signing up for a class/program. Your inability to attend a class because of a change in personal circumstances does not warrant a refund. Refunds/credits will only be available if notice is given two business days prior to the class start since decisions to run a class are based on initial enrollment numbers. There is a refund/credit processing fee of $10.00 for each class, except for those cancelled by HCER. In the event of illness or injury, a refund/credit or proration will be issued in full with a doctor's note. No refunds for materials purchased.
SUMMER CAMP REFUNDS/CREDITS
Since camp groups and the decision to employ and train staff is based on enrollment, camp fees are non-refundable after June 1. In the event of illness or injury, a refund minus a $25 processing fee, will be processed only upon receipt of a written report from a physician. For all other programs, there is a $10 refund processing fee except for refunds due to health related issues or class cancellations.
CONFIRMATION/CANCELLATIONS
HCER DOES NOT MAIL CONFIRMATIONS for class enrollments. If the class you have signed up for is changed or cancelled, you will be called. If you do not hear from us, attend the class as scheduled in this brochure.
LATE REGISTRATIONS
Enrollment after the class is underway will be possible with the permission of the instructor and if space permits. A late fee may be charged depending upon the activity.
SPECIAL NEEDS POLICY
HCER offers a variety of group activities for those with special needs, and also make reasonable accommodations in other programs upon request. Staff members are sensitive to your needs and will do everything possible to assist you in the best possible placement. Please notify HCER at least ten days in advance if any reasonable accommodations are needed in order to make your participation possible. Most facilities are accessible to the disabled individual. If you are interested in participating in a program, but you're not sure about the accessibility of a facility, please call HCER and ask us about specifics. In accordance with provisions of the Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), no qualified individual with a disability shall, on the basis of such a disability, be subjected to discrimination or be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of the services, programs, activities or physical facilities which are provided to the public.
