The Gatorade brand is constantly researching the performance of athletes and using the data to create the most advanced products on the market. However, sometimes products have to be discontinued in order to make more room in the budget for upcoming products. Today, there are three different categories of products sold by the Gatorade brand; the G Series, G Endurance, and G Natural. There are, however, multiple products in each category.

G Series

The G Series is a complete hydration system designed to fuel athletes before, during, and after physical activity. The “before” product line is called Prime, and its products include a sports fuel drink with a gel consistency as well as energy chews. They utilize carbohydrates and B vitamins to provide energy when its needed most. The “during” product line is called Perform and it includes Gatorade Thirst Quencher, GTQ powder, G2 (a low-calorie version of GTQ), and G2 powder. The original creation of the Gatorade company that changed how athletes stay hydrated is aimed at replenishing electrolytes lost in sweat. Lastly, the “after” product line, called Recover, provides an athlete’s muscles with the protein, fluids, and carbohydrates it needs to start recovering. Athletes can choose from a post-game recovery beverage or a protein shake to help their muscles recover from the workout or game.

G Endurance

The G Endurance product line is a separate hydration system created specifically for prolonged training or racing. It is commonly used by marathon runners and cyclists as they are competing for multiple hours at a time. Products in the Endurance line include carb energy chews, a carb energy drink, Endurance Formula, EF powder, and Gatorlytes. The carb energy chews provide energy when consumed within an hour before and during prolonged exercise. The carb energy drink is very similar in that it provides fuel when consumed prior to the start of training. The Endurance Formula and EF powder is designed to provide hydration during prolonged exercise. Endurance Formula contains twice the sodium and three times as much potassium as Gatorade Thirst Quencher. Lastly for G Endurance is the Gatorlytes, which is an electrolyte powder mix formulated specifically for cramp-prone athletes. It contains a 5 electrolyte blend of sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. When mixed with a sufficient amount of fluids, it should prevent athletes from cramping up during long workouts.
