Summer’s near, fashion’s here

Summer is coming up at lightning speed! Despite the unpredictable weather, if you’re anything like me, you can’t wait to go summer shopping. There are numerous awesome new trends that are not only easy to find but easy to incorporate into your existing wardrobe.

Pops of Neon: Brighten an outfit instantly with a cheerful orange, pink or green cross-body bag by Xhilaration, $19.99 at Target.com. Add an inexpensive pink tank top to your once-a-week list, like the zip-back woven crop tank, $14.99 at Charlotterusse.com. Belt a dress or shorts with the yellow sliced strap belt, $6.80, at forever21.com.

Lace: Admittedly a girly-girl taste, lace can still be worn in a variety of different ways. Toughen up an outfit with distressed denim shorts and add edge with colorful jewelry. Abercrombie and Fitch has a wide selection of adorable, delicate lace tanks starting at $34, abercrombie.com. You can almost float in a lace skirt like the crochet skirt, $34.50, at delias.com. The AE scalloped lace dress from American Eagle Outfitters has a vintage feel; paired with a smart navy blazer and red lipstick, it’s a solid addition. $59.50 at ae.com. Coral and Turquoise: the two most trendy colors at the moment, flattering and super-wearable. The AEO Braided T-Strap Sandal, $29.50, in coral, is a classic gladiator sandal (it also comes in white and brown) that is comfortable and easy to wear, ae.com. Try the Ladybug Dress, $38, at francescascollections.com, a breezy, coral A-line dress dotted with white ladybugs. Turquoise and Caicos nail color by Essie is sure to be your go-to shade for the summer! It brings unexpected excitement to any look.

No matter what new purchases you make this spring and summer, remember that there are endless ways to express yourself and your personality. High school is a great time to experiment and figure out what you like to wear the most.
