Basketball, hockey, swimming bring home wins

Last weekend was a Winning one for the HHS sports teams.

On Jan. 29, boys’ basketball defeated Cuyahoga Falls, 68-44. Junior Spencer McClure and senior Zack Meder led the scoring for Hudson with 14 points each.

The girls’ swimming and diving team received their first Suburban League National Conference title Jan. 30. They dominated at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium, ending with a total of 591 points versus 303 points, and 270 points for North Royalton and Brecksville-Broadview Heights, respectively.

Also on Jan. 30, boys’ ice hockey improved to 13-10 by defeating Mentor, 4-0, at Kent State Ice Arena for their senior night. Senior Anthony Giaimo had two goals and juniors Chandler Kotseos and Max Cole each had one goal and two assists. Senior goalkeeper Austin Ganley ended with 21 saves.

Unfortunately, on Jan. 30, the girls’ basketball team lost to Twinsburg, 35-40. Hudson’s leading scorers were seniors Emmy Klemencic with 10 points and Ally Prosser with 8 points.
