Hudson High School’s very own assistant cook Christine Johnson lost her incredibly brave 15-year battle against cancer on Sunday, May 10. After her third and final diagnosis of leukemia in October, Johnson made the courageous decision to continue working with the Hudson lunch staff.
Known as “Chris” by friends and family alike, Johnson radiated positivity every day.
Junior Kasey Thom reflects a woman she admired: “Chris brought a smile to my face on a daily basis. I would go in for breakfast each day and even as early as seven in the morning, Chris was full of cheer. You could tell she loved her job dearly.”
General food server Debbie Impiccini, Johnson’s co-worker, recalls, “She made coming in here [the cafeteria] easy…She just always had something funny to say.”
This year marked the 18th year that Johnson dedicated her time to serving students at Hudson.
“We lost a family member,” Impiccini says.
Johnson was the loving wife of Jeffrey Johnson and devoted mother to Todd Johnson.
As Hudson says goodbye to one of our own, let this be a reminder to be grateful of those who contribute their time and efforts towards making a better society. Christine Johnson will be dearly missed, and the sincerest regards go to her family.
