Johnie Wallen cooks up a good senior year for himself

A lover of the culinary arts, most students would agree senior Johnie Wallen is a very fun and friendly person to be with. When he is not busy washing dishes at Johnny’s Diner, he can be found somewhere close to the clock tower in downtown Hudson having a good time or at his house with his furry friend, a cat named Chloe. Wallen also takes cooking classes at Stow-  Monroe Falls High School in the six District Compact Culinary Arts program.

What are some of your interests?
I like to cook and hang out with my friends at downtown Hudson.

Where do you plan to go to college?
I plan to attend Bob Jones University in South Carolina to study culinary.

What are some school subjects you like?
I like math and government; I think it’s interesting from time to time.

Do you play any sports?
I don’t play any sports.

What are some interesting things about you?
I lived in China for 11 years.

Why did you move to the U.S.?
I got adopted by an American family in 2006 and have been here ever since.

Do you have a job and how many days do you work a week?
I have a part-time job at a diner in Hudson called Johnny’s Diner. I work about three days a week and both Saturday and Sunday.

What are some movies you like?
I like “Elf,” “Batman,” “Captain America” [and] “Hunger Games” series.

What are some singers you like?
Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato [and] Imagine Dragons

What are some colors you like?
My favorite colors are red and orange.

What are some animals you like?
I absolutely love cats.

Do you have any cats?   
I have one named Chloe.

What are your future plans?
I plan to get a job at a restaurant and become a cook.
