The Hudson High School Teachers have recommended to the Superintendent that the Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 High School Math Textbooks be adopted. The Superintendent will make the recommendation for adoption to the Board of Education on January 5th at its regular meeting. The Board will vote on January 5th.

The recommendation is as follows:
The Hudson High School Math Department recommends the adoption of the most current version, copyright 2007, of the McDougal Littell Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 math texts. Additionally, the department will make a recommendation for the post-Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus texts by December of 2009, and will make recommendations for junior/senior level elective courses by December 2010.
The Hudson Math Department believes that the use of these texts in conjunction with Professional Learning Communities and common course planning will best serve the students of the Hudson City School District.
Finally, we encourage the administration and Board of Education to consider the needs of students and the viewpoints of all stakeholders including parents, community members and middle and high school teachers as they decide how to implement this math program in the Hudson City Schools.

On October 22, a public meeting was held for parents and community members about the selection of math text books for the high school. Approximately 45 residents participated. Residents were asked to identify characteristics they felt were important toward the selection of the high school math text books. This input has been given to the high school teachers for consideration. In addition, a text book preview night will be held prior to the final recommendation being made. The date and time of the preview night will be announced soon.
